The not-for-profit South Orange-Maplewood Education Foundation (“SOMEF”) is committed to raising meaningful funds to sustain excellence in education. Our core mission is to enhance the educational experience for all South Orange/Maplewood District students and staff.

SOMEF respects your privacy. To better protect your privacy we provide this policy explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. This privacy policy applies to the SOMEF web site, located at t www.somef.org.

Types of information we collect

There are two types of information that SOMEF collects online: (1) personally identifiable information supplied by visitors to our web site, and (2) non-personally identifiable information gathered as visitors navigate through the web site.

If you make a donation, we may use the information you provided to re-contact you in the future to solicit additional donations or to ask for your support. While we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose information in our possession when required by law, when we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on us.

Children and personally identifiable information

This web site is designed for those 18 years of age and older. We will not knowingly collect information of any kind from anyone under the age of 13. If we become aware of a visitor under the age of 13 providing information on our site, we will purge our databases of all information provided by that visitor.

Access, accuracy and opt-out rights

SOMEF will make reasonable efforts to provide you with access to your personally identifiable information so that you may review, update or correct that information. If you have submitted personally identifiable information to SOMEF and would like it deleted or modified, please contact us at info@somef.org. We will use reasonable efforts to comply with your request.

SOMEF reserves the right to modify this privacy policy at any time. We will promptly reflect any such modifications on this privacy policy.

The security of your information is very important to us. SOMEF follows generally accepted industry standards to protect the information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. Please keep in mind, however, that the Internet is not a 100% secure medium. Therefore, although we use reasonable efforts to protect information, the possibility of someone defeating our security measures does exist.
