A NIGHT ON THE TOWNS – SUNDAY, MAY 23, 2010
SOMEF Support for the CHS Auditorium

Built in the 1920’s, this architectural gem is in need of structural, aesthetic and technical improvements at a cost that exceeds the current limits of the school district’s fiscal capability. SOMEF has raised $30,000 for the auditorium, so far replacing stage and window curtains and restoring the main entry doors. Fundraising from A Night on the Towns is targeted for lighting and sound improvements. It will also initiate a long-range campaign, “Take a Seat,” to raise more to take the district’s renovations, slated to begin in 2011, to the next level. When the project is complete, this fundraising effort will result in a state-of-the-art cultural center for students, families, and community groups from throughout the region.

Be a part of history. Make a donation to dedicate a seat in the restored auditorium with a permanent plaque in honor or memory of a graduate, parent, faculty member, or special occasion. Choose from three levels, ranging from $150 to $500 per seat, depending on location. Underwriting opportunities for stage restoration, sound system, and stage and house lighting are also available with naming rights for major donations. SOMEF will proudly display names of all Take a Seat contributors at the auditorium entrance while renovations are underway.
