Performing Arts at Columbia High School

More than 500 students participate in performing arts activities at CHS every year. The school receives many honors from institutions including the Emmy Awards, Shakespeare Theatre of NJ, NJ’s Governor’s School, and All-State Chorus and Symphonic Band.

2009 CHS Arts Highlights:

• NJ Dept. of Education and Arts Education Partnership named CHS one of 13 Model Schools in the Arts
• A  NAMM Foundation selection as one of the “Best Communities in Music Education” in the nation.
• Montclair State University chose the Parnassian Society for outstanding performance and outstanding achievement in special effects.
