A Unique Teacher Gift Idea - In 2000, SOMEF introduced a unique way for students and their families to thank teachers and other members of the school staff who have had an impact on their learning experience. Since then, hundreds of families have chosen Honor Your Teacher tributes over ordinary gifts, because they express appreciation in students’ own words, while promoting educational innovation at the same time through SOMEF Teacher Grants.

- Download and print a form. (make a copy for each tribute you’re ordering) and mail with a check for the total amount payable to SOMEF at PO Box 84, Maplewood, NJ, 07040.
- OR From our website, for orders of $20 or more: send all of the information requested on the form to info@somef.org, and pay via PayPal.

Good any time of year - Anyone can order Honor Your Teacher tributes including a personal message that SOMEF prints into an attractive card and delivers to the recipient. Tributes are great gifts at the end of the year, but they may be ordered for holidays or birthdays, school graduation, as class gifts, during Teacher Appreciation Week in April, or for any reason.
A Simple Thank You - In a recent National Education Association poll, when asked what gift they would most like to receive from students, teachers’ most popular choice was “a simple thank you,” conveyed in words or in a card.* More than 1,000 South Orange/Maplewood staff members have received Honor Your Teacher tributes over the years, including coaches, librarians, secretaries, guidance counselors, bus drivers, principals and crossing guards. Tributes can be ordered for any staff member in any school at any time.
Support Teacher Ingenuity - Teachers feel doubly rewarded when they receive Honor Your Teacher tributes, because they know that the sender’s donation supports SOMEF Teacher Grants. Members of the educational staff can apply for a grant in the fall for their creative spring classroom projects. Since 2000, SOMEF has awarded over $309,000 for grants in all nine district schools.
