SOMEF: The Honor Your Teacher and Staff Campaign

So many dedicated teachers and staff members in our district extend themselves beyond the call of duty. If a teacher, coach, counselor or other school staff member has done something special for your child, you can thank them with a personalized tribute card from SOMEF.

The Honor Your Teacher and Staff Campaign gives families an opportunity to acknowledge the efforts of teachers and staff (principal, custodian, administrator, nurse, librarian, etc.). in a meaningful way, while contributing to SOMEF’s Teacher Grant program at the same time. Your tax-deductible contributions to this Campaign have helped to fund 353 teacher grants for a total of $220,000 since 1999.

This Honor Your Teacher Campaign occurs each spring, and tributes are distributed to teachers and staff at the close of the school year.

There is a minimum $5 contribution per tribute
and forms must be received by June 9, 2008.

You may send tributes to any staff member in any school. Obtain order forms in early May in your child's backpack, on the district website, at "Community Digital Backpack (Flyers)," or by calling 973-378-2055. You may order via e-mail and, for orders of $50 or more, tributes can be paid for through the SOMEF website via Paypal. The deadline for tribute orders is June 9, 2008, and cards will be delivered to recipients on the last day of school. You can also download and print Honor Your Teacher forms and submit via "snail mail."
